What’s a Webcatt?
Webcatt is my company. My name is Desmond Grundy. I am a self-employed business consultant and project developer based in the Greater Toronto/Hamilton Area. I create solutions for people and businesses that usually require some out-of-the-box thinking. I work with a small team that includes internet programmers, managers, legal and education professionals. To the best of our ability we combine data, business and hands-on, lifelong expertise to create positive outcomes for project investors and our clients.
To understand what I’ve tried to do with Webcatt, please explore the portfolio and network links above. Some of the pages are just ways to present my portfolio. Other’s are customer websites that I have developed in some way.
I began working for myself directly out of college in 1985 as a sub contractor for an interactive television network. From there I was hired by Canada’s largest software company at the time, Batteries Included, to use desktop publishing tools and develop software manuals. After BI, I started Next Level, a technology and publishing business. During that time I also provided value-added-reseller support and sales for Apple and AST Computer.
I went on to design and build custom software solutions and database publishing tools and systems, most notably, ‘Voices United’ a United Church of Canada publication with worldwide distribution, Travelosophy, and the Sony Store. After 2000, I became a full time project developer and business consultant. I dropped the product sales. See ‘what have I done lately?’
I continue to work with small businesses, individuals and organizations as a project coordinator, proposal writer, concept developer and generally recognized straight-shooter kind of idea guy –with complimentary skills –able to finish the job.
